About

portait of the clinician providing service

I'm a first generation mixed-race settler living and working on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. Before becoming a therapist, I was first a social worker with roots in anti-oppressive practice. This foundation continues to inform my therapeutic work as well as my relationship to people and the natural world. I am registered as a Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) with the BC College of Social Workers. (If you're curious about the benefits of seeing a clinical social worker for counselling, you can learn more on the blog: Insights)  When I'm not in session, you can find me making art, lake swimming, feasting with friends, and hiking in the forest.

I was drawn to this work following a positive experience as a counselling client. I've benefitted from the transformative power of working with a skilled therapist and I would love to offer the same gift to you. I would be honoured to walk alongside you wherever you are in your process of healing, growth and change.

Qualifications and Training

Education

2006

Master of Social Work
University of British Columbia

My interest in mental health led me to focus my master's degree studies on mental health and clinical social work. I completed elective coursework and training through the UBC Counselling Psychology department to further develop my clinical counselling skills.

2000

Bachelor of Social Work
Dalhousie University

My undergraduate social work degree focused on promoting social justice and developing an anti-oppressive approach to social work practice. I subsequently worked with marginalized populations including people with problematic substance use and severe, enduring mental health challenges.
